The challenge

In mining, dust is a health liability before it is a housekeeping problem.

Drilling, blasting, crushing, screening, conveying and tipping all liberate respirable dust. Coal dust and silica-bearing mineral dust are the fractions that matter most — fine enough to reach deep lung tissue, and cumulative in their effect over a working life.

Suppression alone does not solve it. Water sprays knock down the visible coarse fraction while the respirable fraction stays airborne, and without measurement at the discharge there is no evidence that anything was actually removed.

  • Occupational health Respirable coal and silica dust drive pneumoconiosis and silicosis — irreversible, and diagnosed years after the exposure.
  • Statutory limits DGMS in India, and MSHA and OSHA elsewhere, set enforceable 8-hour exposure limits that must be demonstrated, not assumed.
  • Visibility and safety Airborne dust reduces sight lines around moving plant and haul routes, and raises explosion risk where coal dust accumulates.
  • Plant wear and product loss Abrasive dust shortens bearing and conveyor life, and every kilogram lost to the air is saleable product leaving the site.

The primary system

Source capture through hoods and ducting, coarse pre-separation, then high-efficiency filter media sized for continuous mineral dust loading. Captured material drops to a hopper for disposal or recovery, and cleaned air is measured before it leaves.

Continuous dust monitoring

What makes it provable

Three measurement points — inlet, outlet and ambient — report PM1, PM2.5, PM4 and PM10 continuously. From those readings the system derives captured mass, filtration efficiency and your position against occupational exposure limits.

How it works

From the dust cloud to a measured discharge.

    Capture at source

    Hoods and ducting draw dust away at the transfer point, crusher or screen before it disperses into the working area.

  2. 02

    Pre-separation

    The heavy coarse fraction is dropped out first, so the filter media is not loaded with material that does not need it.

  3. 03

    High-efficiency filtration

    Filter media rated for abrasive mineral dust removes the respirable fraction that suppression leaves airborne.

  4. 04

    Automatic filter cleaning

    Media is cleaned on cycle so airflow stays at design duty, and the released dust falls to the collection hopper.

    Measured discharge

    Outlet sensing confirms what actually leaves the stack, and the captured mass is logged against the shift.
